

The award and commendation were in recognition of the Foundation’s statewide efforts to connect providers and patients to clinical trials, research and education. We also received a Certificate of Commendation from Senator Harry Reid upon receipt of the Denise Dunning Award. We are the proud Recipients of the Denise Dunning Award from the Nevada Cancer Coalition on May 10, 2013. We also provide information on new treatment options, cancer detection and prevention, and the most recent research that is supported by the National Cancer Institute. NCRF supports the community, local physicians, and health care providers through educational initiatives. The Foundation is committed to advancing the knowledge of cancer and improving the health of its community by the knowledge that is gained from individual participation in clinical trials. The Foundation's membership is comprised of more than 80 physicians specializing in hematology, oncology, radiation oncology and surgery who see adult and pediatric patients. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) oversees this program.Ĭonsortium affiliates of the Foundation include hospitals and physician groups primarily in the Las Vegas and Reno metropolitan areas of Nevada with one site in Pismo Beach California. NCRF is a non-profit, research organization dedicated to promoting high quality, state-of-the-art cancer treatment, symptom management, cancer control, prevention, quality of life and biology studies in Nevada.

The Foundation is one of 46 current recipients of the NCORP grant. The Foundation was a CCOP grant recipient from 1983 unitl its end in 2014.

This grant resulted from the merger of the NCI's Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) and the NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP). The Nevada Cancer Research Foundation (NCRF) is funded primarily by a NCI Community Oncology Research Program grant.
